A high-quality evoo from Tunisia. On smell the prominent note is green banana followed by mixed herbs and tomatoes. On taste the same. Its body is medium and its tasting intensity is moderate. It’s quite spicy but not long-lasting. A complex and well-balanced evoo to sip on.
A creamy and well-balanced evoo. In flavour there are prominent flavours of green banana, green tomato & veggie. Its spice level is high, its body is above medium and its flavour intensity is moderate.
A good evoo. It’s one of the spiciest I can remember to date. It’s prominent notes are tomato & veggie. Its body is medium and flavour intensity moderate.
A spicy and high-quality evoo. On smell green tomatoes and lots of greens. (Veggies) Similar experience on taste. A high degree of spice that lasts for a bit. Not too buttery in texture. The body is medium to a bit below medium and the flavour intensity is moderate to a bit above moderate.
On smell ripe bananas. On taste bananas with hints of citrus and nuts. This is a light bodied evoo with a low flavour intensity. Spice is present but low and quick. It appears to be an economical evoo and will likely be compatible with cooking.
Floral, veggie, & cut grass on smell. The smell also alluded to that it would be spicy. As the juice hits the bottom of the glass it bubbles a bit. On taste green bananas, floral, fresh olives, veggies & buttery in texture. Spice was present but less than I anticipated. Body was light and flavour intensity was medium. Good oil for sipping. I paired it with Alicante-made paella and it paired well.
On taste, high on green bananas and notes of citrus. Body is light and tasting intensity is a bit below moderate. Spiciness is present but low. It’s easy on the palate. This is an economical oil. Should be a good cooking oil for someone who wants to add notes of banana and citrus for what they cook with or to add some flavour to salads.
A delicious high-quality evoo. A bit citrus, tomato and veggie on smell. On taste: Veggie and tomato. Body was thick, tasting intensity was high and spicy. The product packaging is superb. A high-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
I bought this evoo in a boutique run by the City of Alicante in the castillo (castle) on the top of the Benacantil mountain in Alicante, Spain. The smell is citrus and ripe bananas. On taste smooth, sweet and well-balanced. Citrus and ripe bananas continue to come through on taste. The body is light, the tasting intensity is above moderate. It’s a smooth, sweet, pleasant evoo.
I bought this evoo (1L bottle) from a bizzare shop in Istanbul, Türkiye. The packaging was quite secure but difficult initially to open. After taking the lid off there is an additional seal. I thought it was the type of nozzle that pulls up (which I’ve seen commonly used in Türkiye) but the purpose of this seal is to open the evoo fresh. On smell high in ripe banana. On taste still high in ripe banana and faint veggie. The spice is present but low. The body is moderate and the tasting intensity is moderate.
This is a marvellously complex evoo that is strongly sweet. Foreground notes of cut grass and green banana. Quite spicy but not amongst the spiciest. The body is medium and its tasting intensity is very high. Pour it in a glass and enjoy.
A pleasant, veggie tasting evoo with moderate spice. Leans on the veggie side: Green olives and olive leaves are present on taste. Body is medium and tasting intensity is medium. Well-balanced.
An excellent organic evoo. On smell it’s very vegetal: olives, olive leaves, green bananas & artichokes. A buttery, light floral taste that is spicy. Overall a complex and well-balanced evoo.
A pleasant, high-quality evoo that for its complexity is surprisingly low in tasting intensity and spice. It has good balance between being sweet and vegetal. The body is a bit below medium and its tasting intensity is low. This is a good evoo for someone looking for a reasonably complex evoo that’s light.
Consistently one of my favourite evoos each year. This evoo has a high note of almonds and a touch of flower and herbs. Its prominent nutty flavour makes this evoo special to me. It’s excellent to sip on or pour on bread.
More creamy than the intense, weirdly more intense than the intense bottle. It sat better in the stomach than the intense one. Overall the best out of the three different levels of Bustan El Zeitoun.
This is a hearty evoo. The flavour and smell is tomatoes, olives and blackberries. The body is thick. The tasting intensity is quite high. It’s very spicy. Would be likely good for cooking meats with and pairing with certain cheeses. It is a strong, high-quality evoo.
I bought this evoo at the Barcelona airport on the way from Spain to Tunis. Its prominent note on smell and taste is ripe banana. Its supporting notes are tomatoes and nuts. Its body is between medium and high and its tasting intensity is moderate.
This is one of the most underrated and world-class, yet largely unknown, Extra Virgin Olive Oils in the world right now. It’s enormously aromatic with prominent notes of tomato, chamomile and other flowers and herbs. A similar experience on taste. It’s highly complex and well-balanced. Settles well after tasting. Its body is medium and tasting intensity is high. Its spiciness is present but low. It can be paired but is a very enjoyable evoo to simply sip on.
A nice evoo. A prominent note of tomato but less intense than their Mild and Balanced brands. A bit oily in texture: Less oily than the Mild brand but more oily than the Balanced brand. The body was medium and tasting intensity was moderate. A high-quality evoo.
Smell was predominantly green banana with a note reminiscent of vinegar. On taste the evoo was clean with no vinegar taste present. A nice taste of yellow banana still present on taste. Body is medium and tasting intensity is a bit below moderate.
A nice evoo with flavour. Prominent notes of tomato, floral and chamomile. It is a bit oily in texture, even compared to the company’s Balanced brand/evoo. (which I found not oily in texture) Body is a bit below medium and tasting intensity is moderate.
Definitely one of the better olive oils I've tried. Personally I tasted a little bit of banana at first but then a sudden and strong hit of almonds which lasted quite a while and was very buttery overall. Not too spicy but noticeable which doesn't last all too long. I would highly recommend
I bought this evoo in a boutique in Istanbul in the Üsküdar district. We were told the “Taş Baskı” label means that it was created using a tradition stone press method. (Which is interesting) The smell is a strong ripe banana, but there is a vinegar or balsamic-type scent also coming through. The taste, on the other hand, is clean, soft, texture is a bit creamy, and the prominent note is still ripe/yellow banana. (No balsamic/vinegar taste at all) Overall, the taste is soft, on the fruity side (versus vegetal) and pleasant.
This evoo has a prominent flavour on smell and taste of green banana. It’s a bit on the oily side in texture which will make it not the most suitable for sipping. Its body is medium and its tasting intensity is moderate.
This EVOO packs a lot of flavour. I was happy to find it in a grocery store in Malta. It’s notably high in spiciness, the sensation of which lasts for sometime. The body is thick. The flavour level is high. And the flavours are strong in wood and nuts.
On smell a beautiful aroma of cut grass and a blend of fruits including apple. On taste: the same. The body is medium and the tasting intensity is high. It’s very spicy. This is a world-class evoo.
